This unit will provide students with an overview of the importance and scale of agricultural industries, and will be delivered in relation to Western Australian, national and global contexts. Agricultural production systems for food and fibre production will be examined, with particular emphasis on the annual farming calendar for crop and livestock production enterprises. This unit will also provide students with an understanding of agricultural value chains within the production system, and recognition of the constraints to production in current and future farming systems. This unit is a foundation for second and third year agribusiness units. -- Course Website
